What if I don’t like roller coasters? Are there other things to do?
Yes. Great Escape offers more than roller coasters, including family rides, kids’ attractions, water rides, live entertainment, games, dining, and seasonal events. Guests can enjoy a full day at the park at their own pace, whether they prefer thrills, classic rides, or more relaxed experiences.

Does Great Escape have live shows?
Yes. Great Escape offers live entertainment, character appearances, and seasonal experiences on select dates throughout the year. Entertainment offerings vary by day and season, so please check the entertainment schedule or event page before your visit.
Can I bring my selfie stick or monopod into the park?
Selfie sticks, monopods, and similar items are not allowed inside Enchanted Parks.
Do you allow outside food and beverage?
Outside food, beverages, and coolers are not permitted inside Great Escape.
Exceptions may be made for guests with special dietary needs, including food allergies, medical needs, baby food, or formula. Guests should visit Park Security upon arrival for approval before bringing these items into the park. Approved food containers will be marked and dated for entry.
Food for special dietary needs must be limited to the individual guest and may include two sealable sandwich bags and one snack, such as a piece of fruit, fruit bar, or a snack that fits in a sandwich bag. One small soft-sided cooler may be brought in to carry approved items. No outside beverages are permitted.
Grilling and open flames are strictly prohibited anywhere on park property, including the parking lot. Guests may receive a hand stamp to leave the park, eat at their vehicle, and return the same day.
Park Information
What is Great Escape’s alcoholic beverage policy?
No alcoholic beverages are allowed to be brought into Great Escape. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the park may not leave the premises. Excessive consumption of alcohol is cause for ejection from the park without refund. No one under age 21 is permitted to consume alcoholic beverages and proper identification is required to purchase and/or consume alcoholic beverages at Great Escape. Guests are prohibited from taking beer purchased in the park out through the front gate.
What happens if it rains?
Great Escape is open rain or shine. Some rides and attractions may temporarily close due to rain, wind, thunder, lightning, or other weather conditions, and will reopen when it is safe to do so.
Rainy days can also be a great time to visit, since the park is often less crowded and wait times may be shorter. Refunds and rain checks are not offered.
What happens if I lose something while at the park?
Claim or report your lost items at Hospitality at the front of the Park, near the main gate. Ride attendants cannot be responsible for articles left on platforms. Please secure all loose articles before boarding a ride. Great Escape is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or broken items. Items will be retrieved from ride areas when the park closes and kept at Hospitality for seven days. Lost items found at the park are handled in accordance with New York State law. Items with an estimated value of $25 or more are held by the park for a period of time while we attempt to reunite them with their owner. If these items remain unclaimed, they are then turned over to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) as required by law. Items valued at less than $25 may be discarded or donated if they are not claimed within a reasonable timeframe. We encourage guests to submit the Lost & Found inquiry below as soon as possible to help us locate and return misplaced items.

Tips for Family Fun
Over the years, we’ve learned a thing or two about making the most of a day at Great Escape. These tips will help ensure that you have a fun and memorable experience.
- Plan to visit when attendance is lightest. Best bets: Spring weekends, summer weekdays, and early Fright Fest weekends.
- Bring a jacket or sweatshirt for cool mornings and evenings.
- Great Escape s is a smoke-free facility.
- Arrange a meeting place and time, in case your party becomes separated.
- Stop by Guest Relations for stroller or wheelchair rentals. They are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early.
- Review the park map to familiarize yourself with the park’s layout and help plan your day.
- Plan to start your day at attractions furthest from the main entrance. To avoid longer waits, plan to visit the most popular rides when the park first opens, or after 5 p.m.
- To save time, eat at non-traditional lunch and dinner hours.
- Make sure children feel comfortable with a ride before they board.
- Save time in Hurricane Harbor and arrive early or book a private cabana online before your visit.
Is there a place to store my belongings inside the park?
Yes. Electronic PIN code access lockers are available for rent in the Fest Area and Hurricane Harbor. Lockers are subject to availability.
Hurricane Harbor lockers close when Hurricane Harbor closes, which may be before the theme park closes. All items must be removed before the locker area closes.
Is smoking permitted in the park?
Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is only permitted in the outer mall area after security. Smoking is not permitted inside the park.
How do I re-enter the park if I have to leave for some reason?
Guests who leave the park and plan to return must have their hand stamped.
Does Great Escape have a dress code?
Yes. To maintain a family-friendly atmosphere and for health and safety reasons, proper attire must be worn in the park at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear.
Clothing with rude, vulgar, or offensive language or graphics is not permitted. Shirts may not be turned inside out as a solution. Bathing suits may only be worn in Hurricane Harbor. Park admission may be denied if clothing is deemed inappropriate by management.
Do you rent strollers and wheelchairs?
Yes. A limited number of strollers, wheelchairs, and electronic convenience vehicles are available for rent inside International Village.
Rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend arriving early.
Do you have any suggestions if our party gets separated?
Arrange a meeting place and time should your party become separated. Although we are unable to page for separated party members, messages can be left for them at Hospitality.
Are pets permitted at Great Escape?
Pets are not permitted in the park, with the exception of service animals. Relief area for service animals is near First Aid.
Are laser pointers permitted at Great Escape?
For the safety of our Guests and employees, laser pointers are not permitted.
Attraction Information
What ride restrictions are there?
Typical safety restrictions include height requirements, health and safety advisories, and accessibility guidelines. These restrictions are listed on the specific ride pages throughout our Web site, and on signs posted at each ride.
What is your loose article policy?
Loose articles are not permitted on most rides and must be secured before riding. Please leave bags, backpacks, purses, drink containers, phones, hats, glasses, and other loose items with a non-rider or place them in a locker before entering the ride queue.
Great Escape and its team members are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Items may not be left on ride platforms.
What is Great Escape oldest existing roller coaster?
Steamin’ Demon opened at Great Escape in 1984.
What is considered exceptional size where rides are concerned?
Safety is our number one priority. Guests with certain body proportions, height and/or weight may not be able to participate on certain rides if the safety restraints will not operate as designed. Specific ride information is available at the ride and at Guest Relations.
What are the height requirements for the roller coasters?

How tall is Great Escape’s tallest roller coaster?
The tallest roller coaster at Great Escape is Flashback, which stands at 116.5 feet. Other roller coaster heights vary by ride. Please check each ride page for the most current attraction details before your visit.
How many rides does Great Escape have?
Great Escape features 34 rides and attractions in the theme park, including seven roller coasters, plus 12 water attractions in Hurricane Harbor.
Two attractions require an additional fee. Attraction availability may vary by day, season, weather, and maintenance needs.
Are there rides for small children to enjoy?
Yes. Great Escape offers several rides and attractions designed for younger children and families, including dedicated kid-friendly areas like Timbertown, Monsoon Lagoon, and Buccaneer Beach.

What are the best days to visit?
Weekdays are typically the best days to visit if you are looking for lighter crowds, especially earlier in the season or later in the summer. Crowds are usually higher on weekends, during special events, and on the first good weather day after several rainy or cooler days.

Is there a place where I can leave my pets?
No. Great Escape does not offer kennel facilities or pet boarding.
Pets are not permitted inside the park, with the exception of service animals. Please make arrangements for pets before your visit.
